Augmentative and Alternative Communication Clinic
Utilizing the latest communication technology, the AAC Clinic provides evaluation and treatment services to both children and adults with little or no functional speech. AAC evaluations typically include observation in a natural context, as well as a direct assessment of the client's abilities to use electronic and non-electronic communication aids. The AAC Clinic serves individuals with congenital conditions, such as cerebral palsy, autism, and mental retardation, as well as acquired conditions, including brain injury, stroke, and ALS.
AAC Evaluations for clients with ALS are conducted at a monthly ALS AAC Clinic coordinated by Dr. Lowe.
